Dairy Goat Co-operative

Dairy Goat Co-operative is an independent co-operative of 60 dairy goat farmers. The co-operative was formed in 1985 and has pioneered and led the world in the development and manufacture of goat milk based nutritional powders for infants and children. Dairy Goat Co-operative is located in Hamilton, where its single site contains offices and three manufacturing plants - spray drying, dry blending and canning.

Oceania Dairy

Oceania Dairy operates a processing plant at Glenavy just north of the Waitaki River. The plant is designed for the production of infant formula, a range of milk powders and anhydrous milkfat. At full capacity, Glenavy has an annual output of 47,000 tonnes of milk powder and employs more than 110 people. Oceania is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group (Yili) and production from Glenavy will be used primarily for export to the parent company. Oceania has a strong relationship with its small number of local farmer suppliers in South Canterbury and North Otago all within a compact supply area centred on the plant.

Open Country Dairy

Open Country Dairy was formed in 2001 as a private owned company operating in New Zealand as a dairy ingredients manufacturer. The company is supplied by 1,000 independent dairy farmers and processes around 1.81 billion litres of quality milk per annum in its four manufacturing sites. The factories are located in Horotiu, Waharoa, Wanganui and Awarua.

Yashili New Zealand Dairy Company

In December 2015, Yashili New Zealand Dairy opened a state-of-the-art infant milk formula plant at Pokeno, half an hour's drive from downtown Auckland.  Yashili New Zealand Dairy is a subsidiary of the Yashili Group, one of the 'big three' producers of infant milk formula for the domestic market in China.  Prior to the construction of the Pokeno plant, Yashili had been importing New Zealand milk powder into China for over a decade.  Yashili has used New Zealand milk powder exclusively in its infant milk formula since August 2010
